Clark Memorial Library

Richmond, RI's public library since 1880

What is Ocean State Libraries ?

What is Ocean State Libraries?     It is a group of 72 Rhode Island public libraries that is linked through a state-wide communications network and  computer system.

What does this mean to you?
Clark Memorial Library is a member of the Ocean State Libraries group. This means that you can take advantage of the interlibrary loan system to request books from other libraries in the state. When you do a search of the online catalog, you are searching the collections of all the Ocean State member libraries. If you find a title that you are interested in but your local library doesn't have it, you can place a hold on that item. It will be delivered to your local library when it becomes available and you can pick it up there.

If you have either an Ocean State Library card or a CLAN library card, you can go into any Ocean State member library in the Rhode Island and take out books. You can even return them to your local library if it is more convenient.
