3D Printing Service
We are now offering a 3D Printing Service For Patrons!

We have a DaVinci 1.0A 3-D Printer that will print small to medium scale models with food-safe, non-toxic, PLA filament. We currently offer printing in white filament only, though the completed objects can be painted with acrylic paints or any other model painting supplies/techniques.
We are offering 3D Printing Services for a small supplies fee to patrons in good standing.
The fee is $0.25 per meter of filament used with a minimum fee of $1.00.
If you wish to utilize this service, the process is as follows:
-
Design your object.
-
You can use any software that will generate a .STL file
-
We have had good results with Cookie Caster (for making custom cookie cutters), TinkerCAD (for general 3D design) and 3D Slash (for block-based, Minecraft-style building). All these are free online and allow downloading of the final file in the required format.
-
Be sure your object will fit in our printer. The Maximun Printable area is 7.8 inches x 7.8 inches x 7.8 inches. Additional specifications for the printer can be found HERE. Larger items may need to printed in sections and glued together after printing.
-
If you require assistance in designing your object, we offer Open Tech Help Hours on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:00 PM and Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
-
-
Submit your object for approval and a fee estimate.
-
We will load your file into our XYZ Printing Software and ensure the item can printed and meets the object guidelines outlined in the 3D Printing Service Policy Agreement.
-
The software provides a usage estimate for the filament from which we will calculate the cost of printing your design.
-
We will then contact you with the service fee and/or any needed changes.
-
-
Submit your 3D Printing Service Agreement and your object file for printing.
-
If you design is approved and the fee is acceptable, you may then submit the .STL file and a signed 3D Printing User Agreement to the library.
-
Files and paperwork may be delivered by email to clarklibrarytech@gmail.com or in person at the desk with the file on a labeled USB drive (that will be returned with the object).
-
Your item will then be printed as soon as is reasonable.
-
-
Pick up your object and pay your fees.
-
Once completed, we will contact you and set your item out for pick-up.
-
Items must be picked up within 30 days as outlined in the 3D Printing Service Policy Agreement.
-
If you have any questions you can call and speak to Alexis, the Emerging Technologies Associate or email at clarklibrarytech@gmail.com.
